A Good Day For A Shower

I decided this might be a good day for a shower so left the coach heat on, normally I turn it off after breakfast and switch to Mr Buddy propane or a small electric heater to conserve propane. Hard to know what to run when propane is over $3.00 per gallon and electric is .10 per kwh.

What's in your shower? Living fulltime in an RV means making use of every spare inch of room.
To take a shower I have to first remove the laundry basket, a 40# bag of dog food and the vacuum cleaner.

Much to my dismay, this morning I also found 1/2" of water in the bottom of the shower stall! Only one thing that could mean.......the gray water holding tank was full. Ordinarily when we boondock I check the system panel a couple times each day to see where the fresh water, battery power, black and gray holding tank levels are. But since we are in an RV park with hookups I haven't even been thinking about it much. Also I am not conserving water like I usually do. So now I have to go outside anf open the dump valve before I can take a shower.

Oops. We had another 12" of snow last night, guess I need to put my boots on. The guy across the street has been out plowing snow with a blade on the front of his ATV but can' keep up with it.

We have the water line heat taped but have to leave the holding tanks closed because that sewer line freezes solid and breaks. Already been through that once this winter when someone forgot to close the black water valve. There is a reason it is called a "stinky slinky". Got the tank drained and my shower taken. I am longing for the summer when it is warm enough to use the outside shower and not worry about running out of hot water before I can get the conditioner out of my hair.

I have spent most of the day reading blogs of other RVers and surfing the net. Seems there is always someplace else to explore. We have come a long way from encyclopedias and Sears catalogs! Zorro and Katie can't understand why we don't go outside and play frisbee or go for a walk.......it is still snowing...

Boy can I ever appreciate the "what is in your shower". I did the "shower move" this morning - tote bag with shower stuff for campground showers, 2.5 gal water (collapsible), 2 2.5 liters bottled water, dishpan with 2 2 liters bottled water, large bottle laundry detergent and small space heater. See? You're not the only one...LOL!

hey! It's like a big closet, might as well use it! I love my outside shower when it is warm, nothing to move, just make sure there is no one with binoculars anywhere near. heehee....
